The Chair for Industrial Sales and Service Engineering (ISSE) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) focuses on industrial sales, service, and innovation management in research and teaching at the highest international scientific level. Its interdisciplinary and application-oriented research activities combine both technical and business management issues in the context of increasing digitalization, networking, customer orientation, and tertiarisation of industrial value creation.

The research of the chair is characterized by a high international visibility as well as extensive third-party funding from funding bodies at national and European level. Through its interdisciplinary orientation, the professorship promotes cooperation across faculties and universities. Examples of this are the WorldFactory Start-Up Centre and the Research Centre for the Engineering of Smarter Product-Service Systems (ZESS).
